STAIRWELL PROJECT PROPOSAL:  Royal Hibernian Academy.  This project is a 44 piece oil painting installation (range 100cm x 110cm to 28cm x 11cm) with an amorphous wall drawing in white ink.  The dark background is painted using wall paint.

The model for this installation is made to a scale of 1:7 (h90cm x w85cm x d50cm; made from MDF and card (stairs), photographic paper for paintings images and an ink drawing on Fabriano paper.

Underpinning this work is research into how perception occurs, how viewers imbue a space with meaning based on their life experiences.   There is the potential for many possible perceptual interpretations.  Spaces are never neutral environments.
